- Sub: Re: Re Scalable Views
-
- Howard,
-
- I agree with your comments.
-
- I saw James' demo in San Diego and was very impressed. It is a very good job,
- but I do not think that it will provide the flexibility that I need to control
- the amount of detail with scale. I suppose that it would be possible to layer
- something on top of Scalable Views that would allow for draw methods to know
- about the scale of the view, but that would be only a partial solution. It
- would not address the problem of mixing scales within a view.
-
- I am currently developing a scalable grid more suited to graphics than
- UGridView. The grid object is independant of the view, thus allowing multiple
- grids ( actaully coordinate mappings) and mixed scaling within a view.
- Unfortunately ( or maybe fortunately ), it will not be mine to give away.
-
- I hope that this does not sound insulting, but Scalable Views seems to be
- perfectly suited to implementing a very nice page preview function.
-
- Any comments James? ( Need I ask? )
-
-
- Respectfully,
-
- Christopher Kornher
